Jess and Evan and Owen

I'm back home now and so much is going on. I got back last night and stopped over at my brothers house hoping my nephew Owen would be born. My poor sister in law Laura is just sitting around waiting for him to come out and being her first child, she is literally sitting around waiting for something to happen but she isn't sure what she is waiting for. I sure hope she doesn't have to wait much longer. It breaks my heart that I won't be able to go see him right away if he is born this week as i'm working a long week this week and would only be able to go on next Sunday. The one good thing with that is that everyone else will have had their turn and Owen would be all mine...!!!
As i'm about to welcome a new nephew i'm also saying goodbye to my eldest niece Jessyka, she and her boyfriend Evan, who i've talked about in previous post, are leaving in the AM and moving to Edmonton which is where Evan is based with the military, they bought a condo and will be taking possession this week. It is so hard to see her go and i'm worried and hoping she will be okay but knowing she will be with such an amazing human being is making me feel better. I have never met anyone like Evan and feel lucky that he is the one that she will be starting her life with. I wish them all the luck in the world in starting their life together and look forward to visiting soon. It's so hard to see her go, i've been a part of her life since birth and love her dearly. We are a very close family and although I feel she is too young I think it's a selfish thought on my part as I just wish they wouldn't ever grow up. I still picture her first day of school, or our first weekend together when she was just a week or so old. Time flies and i'm proud of her accomplishments, I just wish I hadn't taken her time here for granted. Note to self with Kaysen, don't take him for granted as time goes by too fast and next thing you know it will be his turn.

I love you Jess and hope you know we will always be here for you and Evan if ever you need ANYTHING and please please please be careful....xoxoxoox

Meeting Laura

I'm still here in Winnipeg and so far the week has been good. But this evening it got even better as I got to meet up with Laura, a fellow blogger. She picked me up after dinner for a tea and dessert and a nice chat. It's so great to meet people I only speak to online. The fellow bloggers I have gotten to know have become a large part of this journey. They are the people we look to for support, the ones we look to for understand and alot have become great friends and although I have only spoken to Laura by email and blogging it was as if I knew her for a long time. Our common bond makes it a comfortable situation and it's something I feel with many of you. I thank you all for that comfortable feeling and thank you Laura for taking the time to meet up with me. I hope to see you again soon.

Here are some pics of our meeting. She took me to "The Forks" which is where two rivers join in Winnipeg and some of the area was still flooded from the big flood they had this spring.

We took a great picture of the two of us but my computer isn't uploading very well with this hotel internet connection so I'll have to add them when I get back home. Stay tuned.....
This is the walkway we were suppose to take a walk on, as you can see it's still flooded.

Can we do another 6 months, I'm guessing we can. I sooooooo hoping this is the half way mark for, or even better passed the half way mark. This month zoomed by again, I so hope this continues for the next few months as well.

Blahhhhhh Taxes

I hope you all had a great long weekend. I on the other hand took the opportunity to get my taxes all inputed and 2 days of sorting, and input I have completed, only to find out I owe alot of money again this year. I know, if you make money you have to pay taxes but why so much, does the government now realize I also have to live...lol all and all, not to much of an exciting weekend. It was cold here most of the weekend, but at least we didn't get snow like our friends in Alberta.

Wishing all a great week,

Nat

Mother's Day

Just wanted to take a moment to wish all you mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day and to those that are in my shoes and waiting once again for an "official" mother's day, I feel for you, be strong we will all get through it together and be better for it in the end.

Hope you all had a great day.

Surgery Update

We arrived home yesterday from Toronto with Maddux, fresh from surgery. So far he is doing ok. It's going to be a long 4 months of recovery but we will get through it. We have currently changed the living room area to a recovery area with a large bed on the floor and the tv and everything we need to prevent Maddux from being alone. We are lucky enough to not have be alone for very long in the next few days as if we are out my parents will be here to watch him while they work. Here's hoping all goes well and we don't have to do this ever again.

Surgery

Giving mommy kisses

Chris and I are at my brother, Denis and sister in law, Laura's place in Allliston, while Maddux is in Toronto having surgery as I write this post. Our little guy stayed at the hospital last night and will be there for another 2 nights. He will then have 4 months of recovery and not 8 weeks as we were originally told by our vet. He will be limited to one floor of the home for 4 months, no stairs, no swimming, no running, on a leash for everything, which will be soooo much fun as we live in a 4 level side split home, so there are stairs everywhere and my parents are moving in and will be living on the main floor area of the home so it will be a hard situation. Thank god they are great and will help with Maddux along the way. We will also build him a ramp to go up to the second deck in the back yard which will give him access to the second floor.
It was hard leaving him there yesterday as he has not ever been alone for that long, he has stayed in a kennel once but he had Jake with him. It's so hard with dogs as there is no way to explain to them what they are going through. If it was a child I could at least let him know that it's for his own good and tell him what will happen. With Maddux he has no clue....:( He is at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto and they seem to be really nice and focused on the animals. I spoke to his Dr. this am and feel really good about her being his Dr.
Chris and I will be staying at Den's place until Friday and then will stay in Toronto on Friday night. I have a conference at the CN Tower on Friday all day and we have to pick up Maddux on Saturday so it just makes sense to stay in TO on Friday night.
I'll post more when I know more. Thanks in advance for all the good vibes I know you will all send.
