more bad news....

Well this is definitely the week to make us all upset with the adoption. Not only do we now have to go through 3-4 court dates to proceed, we were now told that the wait for a referral has been extented from 6-8 mths, to 8-10 mths, which is 2 extra months already. Once this new court process begins they are anticipating more delays. So 2009 is definitely NOT the year we will become parents. I still have hope that will get to see what our son looks like this year but he definitely will not be OURS this year..... very sad week.....

Hey Natalie,

I know how you feel. I am waiting for my homestudy still but was hoping for Christmas 2010 to have a little one home. With this news I dont think that will happen now. Keep positive, it will happen!

I'm so sorry to hear about all these new delays. This process is so hard. when all you want to be is a mom...it' so hard to have to go through all these 'steps'. Just continue to reach out to your 'adoption friends'...because honestly not many other people 'get it'...and I found that their responses left me more sad and lonely instead of understood. So hear me when I feel for you and totally get they agony of just wanting to be a mom but for some reason having to wait and wait and wait. But the one thing I can promise you (even though I hated it when people told me)...I promise that the wait is totally worth it...but it still stinks like nothing else I've experienced.

Some days it just seems like it keeps getting further and further away, doesn't it?! Well, I do notice that your ticker keeps climbing up so that is progress hopefully.

The waiting is hard. Sometimes I feel like my whole life is on hold because the timing is so uncertain. Hang in there!

I agree these new delays are making the process so much harder for parents! I just really hope in my heart that these new measures are beneficial to the children. From the start of our homestudy to walking through our front door with Sofia it was 13 months and 3 days! Our second adoption is looking like it will take us about 3 years to complete.... YIKES!

Hang in there. The one very sure thing about adoption is that you WILL BE A MOTHER!
